We work with high quality vegetable-based, organic, food-grade oils - even our essential oils are food-grade. The combination of ingredients we use make cleansing, caring soaps. We work together with organic producers around the world who share our values, and we also source raw materials in our beloved Wickenburgh forest. Here we pick wild leaves and flowers that have grown naturally in these woods for centuries, as well as harvesting roots and herbs in our own garden for use in our soaps.
Palm oil free
We never work with palm oil, animal fats or irritants such as perfume oil, dyes or foam improvers.
From high quality, organic ingredients we make high quality soap, which can be used to gently cleanse both your hands and body.
Werfzeep soap is biodegradable and, of course, not tested on animals. Apart from the honey soap and honey shampoo, our entire assortment is vegan.
Organic & handmade
We make all our soaps by hand, mixed in a large pot in our studio in the heart of Utrecht. Each batch of soap first sits for 24 hours before being cut into 150 bars. After that, the soap is left to cure for several weeks in our drying cabinets. At the end of the process we are left with our finished pieces of Werfzeep soap, each weighing around 100g.
When the soaps are ready, they are taken by bike to a social workspace called Wij aan de Werf. Here they are packaged by a dream team of soap packers in a vaulted cellar facing onto Utrecht’s Oudegracht canal, not far from our studio.
