Werfzepen are wonderfully mild, caring body soaps, full of nourishing oils and naturally present glycerine. Vegan, organic and made with love in an artisanal way in Utrecht.

Werfzeep is intended for the sensitive skin and therefore suitable for all of us.

We make all soaps by hand, in a big pan, in our soapstudio at the Westerkade in Utrecht. We make 150 pieces per batch in one block, which is cut after twenty-four hours. After this, the soap matures for a few weeks in our drying cabinets. After this process, a piece of Werfzeep weighs approximately 100 grams.

When the soaps are ready to be packed, they go by bicycle to the social workshop of Wij aan de Werf. Here they are packed by a super team of soap packers, in a wharf cellar on the Oudegracht, near our soapstudio.

We work with oils of the highest quality; vegetable, organic and of food grade quality - even our essential oils - and therefore full of healing qualities.
We work together with a select group of suppliers and farmers who share the same beliefs. We also pick some of the plants in our beloved Wickenburgh forest. Here we maintain our herbal garden and harvest different ingredients which have been growing there for centuries.

We never work with palm oil, animal fats or irritants such as perfumes, foam improvers or (extracted) fatty acids, such as from the petrochemical industry.
We use rich raw materials to make rich soap that also feels right at home on the sink!

Werfzeep is biodegradable and naturally not tested on animals. Except for the honey soap and honey shampoo - which both contain honey from a local beekeeper - all our soaps are vegan.
